Iran Reports Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Regional Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - said they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
It said missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
