The party expressed its party members were profoundly stunned by the attack.

Authorities say Stalzer's two adopted children - a 17-year-old girl, and a 15-year-old son - contacted emergency services to authorities at midday local time (11:00 BST).

The minors were subsequently removed for questioning and evidence collection. A journalist present witnessed a teenager getting into a law enforcement vehicle.

During the summer, there was an family conflict episode in the household, which was documented by authorities, insiders said.
