Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with carrying out assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
