Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved programs like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of popular shows, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.
The actor is survived by his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
