This concluding episode of this celebrity edition of The Traitors was uploaded in error by overseas distributors prior to its planned UK broadcast on Thursday night, according to official sources.
It is understood that the final was watched by a few hundred viewers of the streaming service Crave in the North American country; they could view it for a short period until it was removed.
The episode being released was not a mistake by the producing network, and a spokesperson for the corporation urged those who think they have discovered the outcome of the series to "avoid sharing potential spoilers".
"We urge anyone who believes they have uncovered the outcome of The Celebrity Traitors to keep whatever they believe they know to themselves," the statement read.
"We ask you to refrain from sharing any spoilers so that the millions of fans who have been faithfully following every twist and turn of the series can enjoy the final this evening."
The Celebrity Traitors is presently the most-watched TV show of the current year, with an mean of 12.6 million viewers across the initial installments.
Fans of the show have been eagerly anticipating to see whether traitors Cat Burns and Alan Carr will win the £100,000 for a good cause or whether loyal contestants the faithful contestants will be triumphant.
