The British player advanced to round three in three out of four major tournaments in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in her final two events of the year due to a health issue she has been battling over the past 10 days.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to recover prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

These plans are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have agreed to work together again next season.

Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more medical attention at the Ningbo Open this week, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.

Raducanu was also moving with clear difficulty in the third set in the match with Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.

Those results signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally for the first time since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.

She secured 28 victories during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but her most impressive week was at March's Miami Open.

Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way before losing in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula.

Her coach was trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

Raducanu told that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
