British Minister for Culture to Hold Talks on Israeli Football Club Fan Ban
The police and crime commissioner from the central England region has called for an urgent reexamination of the decision to prohibit Maccabi Tel Aviv's supporters from attending the upcoming game.
The commissioner, who oversees the police department, explains that this request aims to determine whether the ban is appropriate, necessary, justified, reasonable, and a proportionate measure to achieve a lawful objective.
"That must include evaluation of all and any possible appropriate, other choices," Foster adds.
The commissioner has also requested to examine the official ruling and recommendation from the safety committee, as well as the law enforcement evaluation.
The commissioner underscores, though, that the ultimate ruling belongs to the advisory group and the authorities.
