The tenth week again delivered, with a huge upset for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many fans into the NFL
That result may have opened opportunities for the Patriots to creep back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a remaining games that provides them an advantage over their 8-2 rivals
Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had ideal outcomes to set up a major confrontation in week 11, while our player of the week is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award
The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City last week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Bills to address
The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a row against Miami but were second best from the beginning as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and display
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the team's opening first down in the third period and initial scoring in the final quarter - admittedly the Dolphins had ten days to get ready but it was still a significant failure produced by one of the NFL's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two scores but running back Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns
Bottling up the NFL's top running game was crucial too, with James Cook and company registering just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the year and just over fifty percent their 161.5 yard average
Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the pair from Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area meaning a nine minute drive yielded no points, and his final quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins turned into a touchdown just two plays
It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Allen attempting to do too much to dig his team from the situation - not the calm, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've witnessed this year
Miami have demonstrated a varied performances this season so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the beginning of something, but for the Bills they'll require an instant response in a tough game against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the Patriots are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East
Spotlight - Patriots Identify Route to Unexpected First Place
Regarding the New England, they're among three different eight and two teams in the league, all AFC teams, but are they the best?
One could find flaws in the Patriots, Denver and Indianapolis really for dominating the weaker opponents, with only five of their total 24 victories coming against opponents with a winning record - and one of those was the Indianapolis defeating the Broncos
The Broncos defeated the champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the final quarter while Indianapolis can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa to their prime time success in Orchard Park seems like a declaration
Their pair of losses occurred in recently appointed coach Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven consecutive victories, similar to the Broncos, since then - but taking down Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to prepare was huge
Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he definitely earns point for courage after taking some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but persevering to steer his team to success
The defensive unit is solid and rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson exploded on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to break 22 miles per hour this year on his first score
Although you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favourites to finish with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which features just one game against a winning team, albeit a huge one against the Bills
Visiting the Ravens is challenging too, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to face two times, the Chargers (who could also challenge for top seed but encounter the same problem) and additionally the Green Bay on the fixture list
The Colts also face the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two games with the five and four Jaguars to contend with. There's a long way to travel but the door is available for a shock number one position in the American Football Conference
Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Next Week Clash
Two teams with strong arguments to be better than all of the three 8-2 teams are National Football Conference West opponents the Seahawks and Rams, who both put up forty points to reach seven and two ahead of the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the pair in LA
Both have won four in a row, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with top receivers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a contest
Both could realistically be without a loss as well - especially the Rams as their two defeats came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a game-winning field goal with the final play deflected and run back by the Eagles for a score
Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they're truly two of the top teams in the league
The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date
Top Performer - Taylor
Jonathan Taylor could be on for a record season after his remarkable performance in Berlin - running for 244 yards, registering three scores and contributing another 42 {receiving yards
